Job Description: CM22 | Support Worker / Buddy
Location: Bishops Stortford, CM22

Annual salary: Up to £29,000.00 gross per annum
Driver required? Essential
Use of a car? On duty
Essential Experience: Supporting children with physical disabilities and medical needs
Desirable Experience: Medication administration and PEG feeding
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: 38 hours per week on average

About this client/child:
Tom 12, is a sociable and active young man who just started a secondary school. He enjoys telling stories, being outdoors, playing football and chilling in the swing in his bedroom. Tom has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, is a wheelchair user and requires 2:1 support. He has a blended diet which is administered via PEG. Tom is non verbal but can communicate effectively via MyTobbi Eye Gaze system which he has been using for the last few years.
Overview of role:
You will be responsible to support Tom with his daily routine; this includes personal care, therapy, learning and having lots of fun. Tom lives in the country side and loves being outdoors so good walking boots are essential! You will be comfortable playing football outside, going for walks in the fields, helping Tom to put his stories ideas on the paper and think of new age appropriate activities.You will be working on average 42 hours per week, based on mixture of shifts. Term time:Tue – Fri 4.00pm – 10.00pm, Alternate weekends 8.00am- 8.00pm School holidays:Tue – Fri. £13.00 gross per hour weekdays and £15.00 gross per hour weekends/ bank holiday.
